LEIGH FARM CSA 2019
Our CSA program offers you a weekly share of our harvest, which is a season’s worth of Leigh Farm’s local, naturally grown produce.
You also get the peace of mind that comes with knowing where the food comes from, how it was grown, and who grew it. When you come to Leigh Farm to pick up your produce each week, you will have the opportunity to walk through our gardens and see for yourself how we grow our produce — and you can even get a sneak peek at the coming week’s harvest.
The CSA program, which stands for Community Supported Agriculture, provides Leigh Farm with a full up-front payment for a season’s worth of vegetables in the winter or early spring. This commitment enables us to focus on doing the hard work and adding the amendments necessary to grow the highest quality produce. In exchange, shareholders get a substantial portion of Leigh Farm’s fresh, seasonal produce each week.
Our summer share season runs for 21 weeks, from the beginning of June until the end of October. If you invest in a full share, each week you will generally receive enough produce to fill a large paper grocery bag, or more, of 6-12 varieties of vegetables and/or herbs. A half share will consist of about half the quantity of the full share.
The full share cost is $600 per share.
The half share cost is $300 per share.
Pick up times
We will have two pick up options for the 2019 season. One option is to pick your vegetables up from the farm on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The other option is to pick up from the farm on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. or from the Haymaker Farmers Market in downtown Kent from 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
We are offering the equivalent of 15 shares to begin this season, but may add more shares if there is enough interest and if we are consistently producing more than enough for our established customers. After the first fifteen shareholders have placed their deposits, we will create a waiting list. We intend to offer more shares next season, so if you are unable to get a share this year, you will be in line for 2020. If you have questions or you’re interested in a vegetable share for 2019, contact Erick at 330-414-9315.
